A List of Australian Group Buying Sites

Most people would have heard of Groupon, a deal-of-the-day website where you can buy local goods, services and events at bargain prices, usually 50-90% off the retail price. The popularity of Groupon and comparable sites have seen this type of business model quickly spread to Australia and there are now a number of local “Groupon Clones”, including one joint venture involving Microsoft and PBL Media. According to reports, business in this industry is booming and it’s win-win for both businesses and consumers!

For those traveling to Australia or currently residing there, we’ve put together a list of Australian group buying sites to help you find some great deals. Expect these sites to expand to more and more cities as their popularity soars in the near future.

I was just introduced to Groupon and love it!! There are some great deals going on here in Florence and although I have yet to buy anything, I am definitely liking the prospects! Great post for getting in the know in Oz!

Sofia, check out Groupon for Sweden if you guys are sticking around for a few months, it might work in your city too!

Awesome list! I thought I knew *all* the sites and here you’ve listed even more than I already knew! There’s also livingsocial.com, but they usually feature coupons that are already on one of the other sites. Oh, and they’re introducing groupon (stardeals.com.au) soon in Oz to!
