Accommodation With A View In Kuala Lumpur

Accommodation With A View In Kuala Lumpur

When we first visited Kuala Lumpur in 2008, we had one priority when it came to selecting accommodation – a hotel with a great view of the Petronas Twin Towers.

After doing considerable research, we found one hotel that stood miles above any other and that was the Traders Hotel, located right in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay four years ago and since then we’ve been back to the Traders Hotel three times.

This time around we’ve decided to take a few more photographs and share our experience with you.

Our Hotel Room at the Traders Hotel

Back in October last year, we wrote a post about our perfect hotel room and not surprisingly the Traders Hotel in Kuala Lumpur ticks just about all the boxes.

Friendly staff made our check-in simple after a long flight from Australia and we were delighted to find some decorated cupcakes, chocolates and fresh fruit upon entering the room.

Room Treats at the Traders Hotel

If there’s one way to make a great impression on the two of us, it’s by giving us delicious treats. Other great things about the Traders Hotel include the comfortable bed and free wifi right throughout the hotel – rare for a five-star hotel anywhere in the world.

The large bathroom at the Traders Hotel also deserves a mention which came complete with every bathroom accessory you could possibly think of.

If you’re looking to stay the Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur, forget the City View Rooms or the Garden View Room (even though we’re sure they’re very nice). Pay the extra $10-$25 a night or so and get yourself in either a Deluxe Twin Towers room or an Executive Twin Towers Room.

You’ll be rewarded with a spectacular view like this one (from room #2917 at the Traders Hotel).

It’s a view worth every penny, wouldn’t you agree?

The Traders Club

Splurge a little further and upgrade to a Traders Club room if you want a myriad of extra benefits including access to the Traders Club Lounge on the 33rd floor.

Not only will you get a room on the higher floors of the hotel, you’ll also get a complimentary buffet breakfast, complimentary non-alcholic beverages around the clock and evening cocktail hours between 5pm and 7pm.

This worked out perfectly for the two of us – we arrived just after 6pm and it was great to be able to head upstairs and unwind with a couple of cocktails, a beer and a glass of wine. Plus we got to enjoy a few snacks and even more tasty chocolate treats!

Treats and Breakfast in the Traders Club Lounge

Breakfast was also superb with a wide selection of buffet items plus made-to-order omelettes, pancakes, waffles and french toast. A great way to start the day before exploring the city.

The Gym

After devouring all those tasty treats and having a hearty breakfast under our belts, we needed to work the additional calories off in the fully-equipped gym at the Traders Hotel. With plenty of cardio equipment, weights and an exercise studio overlooking the Petronas Twin Towers, it’s an inspiring place to have your morning or evening workout.

Other Features

We’re only just touching the surface of everything that the Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur provides for its guests in this post – they also offer a free shuttle from the hotel to Suria KLCC Shopping Centre (directly beneath the Petronas Twin Towers).

Then of course there’s the famous open-air SkyBar, one of the best rooftop bars in the world with more unbeatable views of the Petronas Twin Towers.

It’s little wonder that the Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur is ranked #2 on TripAdvisor of all the hotels in the city. After our experiences, we’re honestly surprised that it’s not at number one!
