Pike Place Market is a must-see destination for any visitor to Seattle – the market is a historic open-air market located in the heart of the city and is internationally recognized as one of the USA’s premier farmers’ markets.
It’s also a great place to take photographs so we took out our DSLR and here are the results:
Did you know that Pike Place Market is home to the original Starbucks Coffee store, located at 1912 Pike Place? Worth the visit for those coffee drinkers among us.
Something you absolutely can’t miss while at Pike Place Market is the world famous Pike Place Fish.
You don’t need to buy anything here, just hang around until a customer orders a fish and that’s when the fun begins! Rather than passing them, the fishmongers at Pike Place Fish throw the ordered fish across the shopping area.
The customer in the photo below was lucky enough to be called up and participate in the famous fish toss herself.
There’s a lot more to Pike Place Market than just fish and coffee – you’ll find plenty of beautiful flowers and fresh produce for sale right throughout the market.
And of course, there are street performers to keep you entertained as you stroll along Pike Place.
