Photo Friday #17: Hampstead Heath London

Now that we’ve started our round-the-world trip, every Friday we will feature one of our favorite photographs from the previous week of adventures on Don’t Ever Look Back.

Fall Photo from Hampstead Heath

Hampstead Heath (also know as “the Heath”) is London’s version of New York City’s Central Park and is one of the highest points in London. Unfortunately fog prevented us getting a beautiful photo of the city skyline, however the leaves had just started to fall and Kieron snapped this photo of Amy sitting on a bench within the park.

We think it turned out pretty great – what do you think?

I just want to tell you that Hyde Park in the centre of London, is nearest to NYC’s Central Park not Hamstead Heath…

I guess there are arguments for both – Hyde Park is more centrally located while the size of Hampstead Heath and its fall foliage reminded us a lot of our visit to Central Park.

Regardless, all three of the parks mentioned are beautiful and well worth the visit!

I think… the photo is divine! Good on you for devising an even better viewpoint than the socked-in London skyline. But what I want to know is…

Now that I’m tucked in here on the other side of the globe (Vietnam, as opposed to say, London or my old digs in Seattle) – uh, it’s not FRIDAY anymore here – we’re already into SATURDAY morning. Hmmm… guess the “Photo Xxxday” moniker depends on where you happen to be in the World.

Thanks Dyanne! It’s near impossible (if not completely impossible) to post our photo at the exact moment to post this photo when it’s Friday in every timezone across the world so we post it based on our audience.

Congratulations on making the move to Vietnam – how are you finding it so far? Good luck with everything! 🙂

Beautiful photo! This is the first time I’ve seen your blog but now I can’t wait to see more of your pictures! Where are you heading to next?

Thanks Turtle – good to have you on board! We’re in Amsterdam now but the next couple of weeks on our blog will be dedicated to our stories from Iceland (featuring some super amazing pictures). 🙂

Ohhh, I too would say that Hyde Park is more of the Central Park of London. It has that central but an escape from the crazy city bustle around it like Central Park, and the popularity.
The Heath is more like a special find that not everyone or every traveller goes to and finds, so it makes it and it’s view from the hill so much more amazing! I used to live within walking distance, and it was an amazing place to disappear to on a nice day….a total escape from the crowds, and felt very away from London and the madness of such a busy city!

Gorgeous photo, love the use of colour. Good one!
