This week’s #FriFotos theme is “Gold” and the first thing that came to mind was the Lord Murugan Statue at Batu Caves in Malaysia. Located just north of Kuala Lumpur, this Hindu statue is the world’s largest of Murugan at a whopping 140 feet tall (42.7 meters).
The statue, unveiled in 2006 after 3 years of construction, cost over $800,000 to build and is made of 1550 cubic meters of concrete, 250 tons of steel bars and 300 liters of gold paint.
