Photos from Jurong Bird Park

Photos from Jurong Bird Park

With 3 months until we revisit Singapore for a second time, we’ve started compiling a list of things we want to do when we get there. As we flicked through the photos from our 2008 visit, we saw our collection of photos from the Jurong Bird Park and thought we would share them with you.

The Singapore Zoo seems to get all the attention when it comes to wildlife on this island nation, but we couldn’t recommend Jurong Bird Park highly enough! It is largest bird park in the world and with 380 different species, it is a one-of-a-kind place that just has to be seen.

It's not just birds at Jurong Bird Park - they also have lovely gardens including this gorgeous waterfall.

The Jurong Bird Park really is quite a spectacular place – if only we had a copy of How to Take Great Travel Photos with a Point and Shoot Camera back then, we might have been able to do it justice with our photos!

For those who are interested in visiting the Jurong Bird Park, we recommend you purchase a Park Hopper 2-in-1 admission ticket. This costs $32SGD and provides entry to both the Bird Park and the world-famous Singapore Zoo.

I think you are not giving yourself much credit – the photos were well taken!

I am about to run away overseas in February and have a one-way ticket booked to South East Asia so the Jurong Bird Park definitely looks like something checking out if I find myself in Singapore.

Thanks Kenan, appreciate it! A bit of editing in Photoshop did help make them look a little better. :)

It’s awesome to see other Aussies escaping the corporate world and taking the plunge into long-term travel. Not long to go for you now, must be so exciting! Singapore is so accessible from KL, we splurged on a luxury Aeroline bus for around $40AU each but it can be done much cheaper. Then you can fly anywhere in SE Asia cheaply from there with Tiger, AirAsia, Jetstar and the like.

All the best with your upcoming trip, we look forward to following your progress!

You got me as soon as I saw the title with the word birds in it. I love birds and would love to visit this place. The parrots look like cheeky little things. It is my dream to own an African Gray parrot one day.

It’s a great place to visit, we couldn’t get the parrots to talk but maybe they just didn’t feel like it that day!

Owning such an intelligent bird would be awesome, Amy wants to own a Major Mitchell Cockatoo one day!
