Short on travel savings? Earn extra cash!

Short on travel savings? Earn extra cash!

Over the past couple of weeks of Frugal February we’ve posted plenty of ways in which you can save money. Save money with frugal foodie ideas, save money with water, save money by reducing your vampire power and save money by avoiding the mall are just some of the strategies that our guest writers have shared with you.

And while all these strategies are great, you’ve probably made just about all the sacrifices you can make, right? Well fortunately there is another way you can boost your travel savings…

Earn extra cash!

We can hear your mind ticking over, trying to come up with an excuse why this wouldn’t work for you. Stop right there! We’re not asking you to make tens of thousands of dollars here but when you’re saving for travel, every single dollar is important. If you’re already working full-time, there are many ways you can supplement your income from other sources.

Online SurveysBut where do I get started?

If you’ve already completed Frugal February Challenge #2 and sold something on eBay or Craigslist, you’ve got a head start! This is the major way we’re generating extra savings for our round-the-world adventure.

Some of the other things the two of us are doing to earn extra money include taking online surveys, selling blog advertising on Don’t Ever Look Back and designing nifty Facebook welcome pages for awesome fellow travelers (hit us up if you need one!). We’re hopeful that all of these tasks, while not major sources of income, will add at least a week or two to our travels.

That may not sound like a lot, but just remember that most people take that amount of time off for their annual vacation! So what are you waiting for? Stop wasting your free time and use it to do something constructive to earn some extra income!
