It’s our first night since leaving Singapore and as we shut our eyes, the relaxing sound of gentle waves breaking directly below engulfs us. A few minutes later we’ve both peacefully drifted off into a deep sleep and awake the next morning completely recharged.
This is what a relaxing and romantic vacation is all about.
We’re inside a Premier Water Chalet above tropical emerald waters but the two of us aren’t in the Maldives or Bora Bora as you might expect. In fact, we’re in Malaysia at the beautiful Berjaya Langkawi Resort in what is arguably the best room we’ve ever stayed in.
It’s not just the fantastic room or the location of the resort though, nestled within a lush rainforest sanctuary on the edge of the Andaman Sea. As we’ve said in the past, it’s the little touches that make all the difference on any stay and the Berjaya delivered plenty.
From the warm and friendly staff to the refreshing welcome drink upon our arrival and the brilliant towel art we spotted on the bed after entering our room, these are the things that made us fall in love with the Berjaya within the first hour.
We were quite happy to chill out on our balcony all day but there is a host of other daily activities run by the resort from free nature walks to a bike trip out to Seven Wells Waterfall. For those who feel more at home at the sand, there’s beach volleyball and a variety of watersports including jet skis, kayaking and more.
Or you can just do what we did and relax in the shade on the Berjaya’s own private beach or at the pool bar. There’s also a variety of indoor activities at the Rimba Lounge from pool to foosball and even a bit of table tennis and don’t forget the Ayura Spa.
You’ll never get bored at the Berjaya Langkawi Resort. Nor will you get hungry or thirsty either with four different restaurants located on the grounds of the resort and a couple of bars.
The only downside for us was that because the resort is spread over 70 acres, a shuttle bus was required to pick us up from our room to take us to the main area and back again. However these shuttles ran 24 hours a day and usually arrived within 5-10 minutes so we can’t complain too much.
The Berjaya Langkawi Resort has everything you need for your perfect relaxing and romantic vacation and you don’t even need to leave the resort if you don’t want to.
In fact, you’ll find it difficult to leave at all with uninterrupted views from your room like this one.
