Guest Post: How To Save On Travel Activities

This is a guest post by George Bridges who has been traveling around the globe with his wife Julie for over ten years. They’re experts in luxury travel on a budget, saving on their travel expenses in ways you probably haven’t even thought of.

My wife and I have always loved a good vacation but the travel activities were just too expensive for our budget. This was when I began looking for ways to save money on vacations. I soon realized that we were paying for so many activities that were simply unnecessary – just being in some of those locations with the people you love opened the gate for a great vacation.

Sometimes the best things in life are free

Caribbean Sunset

Caribbean Sunset. Cost: Nothing!

You hear this all of the time but most people just laugh it off as just a corny saying. If only they realized how genuine this saying truly is, they could potentially save a lot more money on their vacation activities! For example, there are so many museums in London that are completely free of charge. Simply Google “free admission museums” and the location you plan on visiting.

Now you may be thinking, yeah, but the quality of those museums are fairly low too. Well, actually some of these museum offer the same type of exhibits as the museums that charge you money. There are also enough of these museums that you will be able to go to many of them without paying a dime.

Another example of the best things in life being free was when my wife and I were vacationing in the Caribbean. We were simply walking down the beach while watching the sunset which was a nice romantic activity. All free, and a great memory. My wife later told me that was the best part of her whole vacation.

On top of that, we received a promo code for cheap Caribbean getaways, which also helped us with keeping the expenses down.

Take full advantage of your coupons

Whenever you plan on buying something anyway, you might as well get a coupon for it and save money in the process. For example, if you were down in Australia on the Gold Coast and you were planning on going snorkeling. Well, why not find some Australian coupons for snorkeling to help you save on the money for that activity? You can purchase a coupon book for about $20.

You may be thinking that you will not save money by doing something like that. However, my wife and I have found that most of the time, when we purchase these coupon books, we save a ton of money in the long run.

Check with your hotel

There are many hotels that will offer deals on certain activities in the area. All that you need to do is ask what they are offering. They can also tell you about any music concerts or special events that are going on in the city and at what prices they are being offered. You can also ask them if there are any free activities in that area.

And again, always use coupons and get deals where you can. For example, if you were planning on going to the Emirates anyway, you could get a coupon code for Emirates to help with the expenses. The Emirates have many dazzling beaches.

Be on the alert for special advertisements

The thing that I have found for saving money on travel activities is you should always look out for advertised specials. If you can save $10 on an activity you planned on buying anyway, then it was well worth it.

There are many ways that you can save money on travel activities. I have discovered that if you remain vigilant, you can get the latest exclusive coupon codes and save a fortune. It all comes down to keeping your eyes open for the deals that are being offered.
