The Big Island of Hawaii contains 11 of the 13 different climate zones in the world, each with its own unique ecosystems. Within the tropical regions grows the Heliconia, a spectacular flowering plant also known as lobster-claws. We’re pretty happy with this photo – what do you think of it?
It’s not exactly a pool but this week’s Photo Friday is of the man-made Saltwater Swimming Lagoon at Plantation Bay Resort. We didn’t stay here while in Cebu but did take a tour of the perfectly landscaped resort and have made it our mission to one day stay in a room right on the lagoon.
Some of the best views in Bali are at the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces near Tabanan. If you’re visiting Bali, be sure to include this beautiful location into your itinerary – truth be told, even this photo doesn’t do it justice. So green and so breathtaking, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped straight into a postcard at Jatiluwih.
Big Ben, the nickname of the great bell clock at The Palace of Westminster in London, is one of the iconic symbols of the United Kingdom. We only took a couple of photos of it while we were here but luckily one of them turned out pretty well!
It’s Good Friday which means we’re dedicating this week’s Photo Friday to a relevant picture. Magellan’s Cross was planted by Ferdinand Magellan upon his arrival to Cebu City in April 1521 and is a symbol of Christianity in the Philippines.
On the eve of Kieron starting his new job we spent the night in Melbourne and took this photo of the city skyline overlooking the Yarra River. You can see the Rialto Towers on the left and Flinders Street Station on the right and it’s beauty like this that makes us love our home city so much!
Think of Australian animals and cuddly creatures such as kangaroos, koalas and wombats probably come to mind. But what you might not know is that sharing Australia’s Coat of Arms with the red kangaroo is the emu – Australia’s national bird.
